AKTIV8 Portal [3] is a continuation of sacred wisdom explorations conceptualized by AnAkA as a part of a project entitled AKTIV8 Archive. AKTIV8 Archive is an ethnographic breathing archive that documents sacred creative processes of artists who utilize their art as a healing practice. After 10 years of documenting through film, photography and sound, AnAkA premiered the first AKTIV8 Portal [1] at The Shed NY in 2021. This portal featured AnAkA’s music, films and photographs as well as performances by her father Victor Morris and her teachers India Sky Davis and Serket the Maatriark. AKTIV8 Portal [2] is a video documentation of AnAkA performing to the trees who raised her in Portland, OR. This film will be premiered at the Portland State University Museum in January 2022 and on exhibition through April 2022.
The goal of AKTIV8 Portal [3] is to empower and continue the mission of AKTIV8 with an installation and soundscape to honor the importance of how it feels to have an open heart. Sound is a tool of healing that has been used since the dawn of creation. This wisdom will be practiced by creating an ambient sound bath guided by Spirit between AnAkA and special guest musician, Laraaji.

Laraaji is a Master sound healer and practices with a wisdom of meditation. He is a Black American elder who AnAkA has been sharing space building sacred soundscapes with. Sacred sounds will illuminate the entire space, activating a healing portal for those who are tuned in.
